I have read about a strategy called sub-text strategy. This strategy tries to get the reader deeper into the story and try to experience the feelings of the characters in the story. The students take post-it notes and as they read a story they make comments on what the characters might be feeling right at that point in the story. I think this idea could also impact a student’s writing and make them think deeper about how to express emotion and feelings in their writings. I hope this makes sense. I’m posting this almost on my way out the door.
problem in classroom and teaching

The problem I would most like to solve in the classroom is one that I will never be able to solve. I would like for children to come to school with their little stomachs full and no troubles from home weighing on their minds. Ispent last week searching for a way to get through to a little girl who desperately needs help. However, we have exhausted every strategy we know with no positive results. As far as my teaching, I need more confidence. I’m so new and sometimes I doubt my ability to teach a subject with which I am not very comfortable. But, I guess this just comes with experience.
